Accountability:
Own
the safe, efficient, and well-executed day-to-day operation of the aquatic
facility. Ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time,
while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and on-deck
performance.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Scheduling
& Staffing
Accountable
for ensuring all shifts are properly staffed and compliant.
- Build, manage, and
publish staff schedules
- Approve shift changes
and coverage requests
- Ensure compliance with
Employment Standards and internal policies
- Monitor staffing levels
and proactively address gaps
On-Deck
Operations
Lead real-time execution of daily pool operations.
- Assign and manage staff deployment (positions, rotations, breaks)
- Oversee pool set-ups and shift execution
- Make real-time decisions to ensure smooth operations
- Support Head Guards and lifeguards during shifts
Health
& Safety
Ensure a safe environment for guests and staff at
all times.
- Enforce lifeguarding standards (scanning, positioning, ratios)
- Lead and support emergency response situations
- Ensure accurate incident reporting and documentation
- Maintain compliance with AHS regulations and safety standards
Workforce
Management
Maintain a sustainable and effective workforce.
- Track hours, fatigue, and workload across the team
- Identify staffing risks and operational pressures
- Support staffing planning and adjustments
Performance
Management (Operations-Based)
Drive accountability and performance on deck.
- Monitor attendance, reliability, and shift performance
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Address immediate performance concerns
- Escalate ongoing or serious issues to the Manager

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive aquatic leadership and supervisory
experience
- Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR-C/AED certifications
- National Lifeguard
- Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Post-Secondary Diploma and/or University Degree in kinesiology,
recreation or customer service management, business, etc.
The following
certifications are considered an asset:

Lifesaving Society Trainer
o
National Lifeguard Instructor
o
First Aid Instructor
o
Pool Ops 1
o
Water Fitness Instructor
