Appliance Installation Technician / Box Truck Driver

White Glove Delivery of AL is seeking dependable, customer-focused Non-CDL Box Truck Drivers / Appliance Installers to perform residential deliveries and installations. Our teams deliver and install major household appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, and premium, professional-grade appliances. Responsibilities include standard appliance hookups, specialized installations, careful handling of high-end equipment, and providing exceptional service inside customers' homes. We are looking for candidates with hands-on appliance installation experience who are also comfortable operating a 26-foot box truck. Background Requirements : Because this position requires entering customers’ homes, candidates must successfully complete the company’s criminal background screening. Our background standards are strict, and offenses that present a safety or trust concern may affect eligibility for employment. Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot box truck on scheduled local residential delivery routes. Deliver, handle, and professionally install major household appliances, furniture, and other large household items. Perform standard and advanced appliance installations, including premium and professional-grade appliances, based on experience, training, and authorization. Install and connect refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, and other major appliances according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Position, level, secure, and test appliances to ensure proper installation and operation. Perform appliance removal and replacement when required. Utilize appliance dollies, liftgates, straps, hand trucks, and installation tools to safely transport and position merchandise. Navigate stairs, narrow hallways, tight spaces, and residential entryways while protecting customers' homes and property. Assess delivery locations, verify installation requirements, and identify potential obstacles before beginning work. Properly load, secure, transport, and unload merchandise to prevent damage. Communicate professionally with customers and provide a high level of service during in-home deliveries and installations. Complete required delivery documentation, installation photos, customer signatures, and route paperwork. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Follow DOT regulations, company safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and customer-service procedures. Promptly report delivery issues, product damage, installation complications, or vehicle concerns. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively in customers' homes. Qualifications Valid driver’s license Experience driving a box truck, straight truck, delivery vehicle, moving truck, or similar commercial vehicle preferred Final-mile, appliance delivery, furniture delivery, moving, or installation experience preferred Ability to safely lift, maneuver, and assist with heavy household items Comfortable working inside customers’ homes Basic mechanical ability and comfort using hand tools Strong customer-service and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team Ability to meet company motor vehicle, background, and safety requirements Reliable attendance and punctualityPhysical Requirements This is a physically demanding position.
