Apparel Production Coordinator — Paid Internship Prantz Performance Wear Inc. | Newmarket, Ontario Help bring performance costumes to life—from the first sample to the final fitting. Prantz Performance Wear Inc., home of Prantz Dancewear, is looking for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic Apparel Production Coordinator to join our growing studio. Working directly with the owner and designer, you’ll help turn creative ideas into beautifully finished dancewear. Our projects range from individual solo costumes to large group orders, offering variety and hands-on experience in custom apparel production. This paid internship is an opportunity to build your skills in stretch-fabric cutting, pattern adjustments, production coordination and fitting, while contributing to costumes made for the stage. What you’ll do Cut knits, stretch fabrics and spandex for samples, solo costumes and group orders using scissors, rotary tools and, when required, a straight knife. Training in our cutting methods will be provided. Interpret and adjust dancewear and bodywear patterns, following the designer’s measurement charts and instructions precisely. Assist with pattern drafting and redrafting as needed, ensuring clear markings and organized pattern storage. Calculate fabric requirements, monitor inventory and help coordinate orders for fabrics, trims and notions. Prepare tech packs and assemble materials and instructions for production sewing. Track orders through cutting, sewing and finishing, helping keep production organized and on schedule. Check finished garments for quality and prepare orders for fittings, presentation and delivery. Keep workstations organized and support an efficient studio workflow. Assist with in-house fittings, occasional fittings at client studios, photography shoots and model audition days. Contribute to the design process as required. What you’ll bring Familiarity with stretch fabrics and experience handling apparel patterns. Strong math and measurement skills. Careful attention to detail and the ability to follow technical instructions. Good organization, time management and follow-through. A reliable, flexible approach and enthusiasm for learning. An interest in becoming part of a growing performance wear company. Helpful additional skills Fabric-cutting experience. Familiarity with dancewear, swimwear or activewear production.
