Serve as the CEO’s analytical partner by converting existing financial, commercial, operational, and S&OP reporting into a concise, prioritized view of business performance. Explain what changed, why it matters, what remains uncertain, and which decisions or actions require executive attention. The role owns the executive synthesis and follow-up process. Finance, Sales, Operations, S&OP, Supply Chain, and IT retain ownership of their source reports, metric definitions, systems, forecasts, operating processes, and execution. Focused analysis supplements their work and is validated with the responsible owners. Review daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports produced by Finance, S&OP, Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, and IT. Distill report outputs into a concise executive briefing that highlights the few issues, risks, decisions, and opportunities requiring CEO attention. Identify unexpected variances, data-quality issues, inconsistencies between reports, performance deterioration, and unusual trends. Investigate material discrepancies by working directly with the appropriate functional owners; distinguish between a reporting/data problem and an underlying business problem. Analyze key performance indicators across sales, volume, pricing, mix, margin, material cost, conversion cost, manufacturing performance, inventory, service, working capital, forecast accuracy, and customer profitability. Compare actual results against budget, forecast, prior year, prior period, and approved targets; quantify the financial or operational significance of key variances. Prepare executive-ready summaries that answer: What happened? Why did it happen? What is the impact? What should management do next? Maintain an issue tracker for significant findings, including owner, root cause, recommended action, due date, and resolution status. Follow up on agreed actions and report whether corrective measures produced the intended result. Support CEO preparation for operating reviews, executive meetings, strategy discussions, customer meetings, and leadership-team meetings. Coordinate with IT and the dashboard team to improve data definitions, controls, dashboard usability, alerts, drill-down capability, and data governance; but do not serve as the primary report developer. Partner with Finance to ensure analyses reconcile to financial results and comply with established reporting definitions and controls. Partner with the S&OP Planner to identify gaps between demand, supply, inventory, capacity, forecast assumptions, and financial outcomes. Develop focused ad hoc analyses and scenario models when the CEO or leadership team needs a rapid fact base for a decision. Document recurring metric definitions, assumptions, sources, known limitations, and validation procedures. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Typically two to five years of relevant analytical experience, with demonstrated ability to interpret financial or operating data and communicate actionable findings. Substantive freelance engagements and applied client projects may contribute when their scope and individual contribution can be verified.
