Southeast Ambulance is seeking a dependable and motivated Ambulance Dispatcher to join our team in Georgia. The Ambulance Dispatcher plays a vital role in coordinating non-emergency medical transportation, communicating with patients and healthcare facilities, managing transport schedules, and supporting our crews to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality service. Key Responsibilities Communication: Answer incoming phone calls from patients, healthcare facilities, and third-party contacts in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Transport Coordination: Schedule and coordinate patient transports while maintaining accurate and up-to-date dispatch information. ETA Management: Provide accurate estimated times of arrival (ETAs) for transport pickups and communicate updates or delays as needed. Time Estimation: Evaluate transport requests, estimate transport durations, and plan schedules to support efficient daily operations. Crew Scheduling: Monitor crew assignments and transport schedules to help ensure crews complete their duties and return off duty at their expected times. Problem-Solving: Address scheduling conflicts, delays, last-minute changes, and other operational challenges while communicating effectively with all parties involved. Patient Care Report (PCR) Quality Assurance: Review Patient Care Reports for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to documentation standards. Identify errors or omissions and follow up as needed. Team Communication: Maintain clear communication with field crews, supervisors, facilities, and other departments to support smooth operations. Customer Service: Deliver professional and compassionate service while helping patients, families, facilities, and other contacts navigate transport arrangements. Qualifications and Requirements Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Previous dispatch, scheduling, transportation coordination, or customer service experience is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. High attention to detail, particularly when coordinating schedules, providing ETAs, and reviewing patient care documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn dispatch and scheduling software. Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally and in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
