A day in the life Before the first flight pushes back, you’re already on the ramp. You top off fluids, log equipment needs, and bring a mixed fleet of tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, and service trucks to life. As the day unfolds, you’ll diagnose a stubborn hydraulic leak, swap a worn clutch component, check brake tolerances, and test-run a unit to confirm your fix—all while keeping meticulous records and modeling our safety-first culture. When a last-minute call comes in, you pivot, troubleshoot, and get the operation moving again. What you’ll do Refuel and replenish essentials—fuel, water, engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air—for motorized and non-motorized ground support assets. Document equipment IDs and note the scope of work for each unit you touch. Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and when required modify systems and assemblies including: engines and transmissions; brakes and braking systems; bumpers and bodywork; bag cart curtains and curtain rods; tow hitches and tow bars; undercarriages, wheels, and tires; and components such as bushings, shafts, end places, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hoses, and wiring. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using OEM manuals, industry best practices, and established safety regulations. Remove, bench-test, repair, or replace parts like carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points, and auditory sensors. Set and verify tolerances for valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts. Operate and test ground service equipment to validate performance after repairs. Complete work orders accurately and track parts usage to maintain inventory integrity. Follow all safety procedures and exemplify PrimeFlight’s customer service and safety standards. Take on additional duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications 18 years of age or older. Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment. 1–2 years of verifiable experience in related mechanical work. Provide your own tools and toolbox. Consistent, reliable attendance at the assigned work location. Valid driver’s license. Proficient English communication skills (read, write, speak). Able to access and interpret technical information in print or digital form using tablets, computers, or mobile devices. Clear, professional communication with teammates and customers both face-to-face and electronically. Pass a background check and drug screen Eligibility to obtain required credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal—as applicable). Willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in support of a 24/7 airline operation. Physical demands and work environment Lift items weighing up to 70 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods in indoor and outdoor settings. Reach with arms; grasp and handle tools and parts with hands. Push and pull equipment and components.
