Aircraft Maintenance Scheduler
StratolaunchStratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security. Stratolaunch is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Scheduler to develop integrated operational plans one to six months ahead for our carrier aircraft, hypersonic programs, and other programs requiring operational execution. The scheduler aligns personnel, maintenance, operations, testing, parts, and engineering readiness. At 30 days before execution, the scheduler hands a coordinated planning package to Maintenance Control for final planning, adjustments, and execution, while continuing to support changes and maintain the longer-range schedule. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a rolling one-to-six-month schedule integrating aircraft maintenance, modifications, ground operations, testing, flight activities, and program milestones. Translate operational priorities into sequenced work with durations, dependencies, resource needs, and readiness dates; identify critical-path activities and schedule conflicts. Coordinate personnel assignments and capacity with team leaders, accounting for qualifications, shifts, leave, training, inspection coverage, and competing program demands. Forecast calendar-, flight-hour-, and cycle-driven maintenance against expected utilization; coordinate required work within applicable limits and available ground time. Coordinate parts procurement with Supply Chain; track requisitions, lead times, repairs, delivery commitments, receiving inspections, and material kitting against need dates. Track engineering definition, drawing and procedure releases, configuration requirements, and open technical dispositions; establish owners and dates for missing inputs. Align tooling, GSE, facilities, vendor support, and test resources with Aircraft Maintenance, Flight Operations, Flight Test, Engineering, Quality, and program teams. Lead planning reviews, resolve resource conflicts, evaluate schedule alternatives, and escalate readiness risks with owners, recovery actions, and required decisions. At the 30-day mark, deliver a reviewed package containing work scope, schedule, staffing, technical-data status, parts, tools, facilities, test needs, and open risks. Document Maintenance Control acceptance, outstanding actions, owners, and due dates; support its final planning, adjustments, and execution inside the 30-day window. Maintain schedule versions and change records; incorporate execution feedback and actual labor into future plans, track readiness and handoff performance, and perform other assigned duties. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. REQUIRED 3+ years of aircraft maintenance planning, scheduling, production control, or comparable aviation operations experience, including preparation of coordinated work packages. Ability to build and maintain multi-month, resource-loaded schedules with logical dependencies, milestones, critical paths, and realistic labor and duration estimates. Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes, inspection intervals, utilization forecasting, maintenance records, and applicable airworthiness requirements. Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, task cards, engineering orders, drawings, and configuration records, and distinguish released data from pending definition. Experience matching work to personnel qualifications and availability, including …
