Locations: Los Angeles, CA (LAX) & Houston, TX (HOU) — 1 opening per location Employment Type: Full Time | Work Setup: On Site Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 Annual About the Role We're hiring hands-on Air & Sea Freight Operations Specialists for a people-first global freight forwarder recognized for 10+ years as a Top Company for well-being, stability, and career growth. We have one opening in Los Angeles (LAX) and one opening in Houston (HOU) . This role manages air freight shipments end-to-end while also supporting sea import operations, working across a 35+ country network on time-critical and complex shipments. Please note: Air freight must be the majority of your recent experience — this role is not a fit for procurement backgrounds or candidates whose experience is primarily ocean. Strong sea import experience is required in addition to air. What You'll Do Manage air freight shipments A–Z from origin to final delivery Book cargo, coordinate pickups, prepare documentation, follow up with airlines, track shipments, arrange delivery, and bill Support sea import operations — ISF/AMS filings, ocean documentation, terminal and intermodal coordination, and exception handling Work with airlines, ocean carriers, truckers, terminals, customers, and internal offices on bookings, pickups, docs, and cargo recovery Monitor milestones, flag delays/exceptions early, and resolve issues to maintain service levels Keep documentation, system updates, costs, and final billing accurate Support air freight quotes by checking routing, transit times, capacity, and operational feasibility Handle priority, bonded, FTZ, cross-border, and other complex shipments with tight follow-up through the full lifecycle What You Bring 5–10 years of hands-on Air & Sea Freight Operations experience in freight forwarding Air freight must be the majority of recent experience (air export and/or air import) — not procurement, not primarily ocean Strong Sea Import Operations experience, ideally with a minimum 70% Imports / 30% Exports ratio on the ocean side CargoWise experience (must-have) Knowledge of AES, TSA requirements, and air freight documentation Knowledge and/or certifications in AMS, ISF, FMC, and IMDG Knowledge and experience with Bonded Freight, FTZ, and Cross-Border operations Strong network and operational experience with terminals and intermodal vendors Able to run multiple shipments, priorities, and urgent requests independently in a fast-paced environment Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Native English proficiency; Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not mandatory Nice to Have Aerospace or time-critical / AOG shipment experience Experience supporting multiple internal offices or internal customers Hazmat / DG handling across air and ocean Why This Opportunity Join a global freight forwarder recognized for 10+ years as a Top Company for well-being, stability, and career growth Work across a 35+ country network on time-critical and complex shipments Internal mobility and ongoing training and certifications A culture built around empowered operators, fast decision-making, and strong client service Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and paid holidays Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: Remote
