Air & Ocean Export Agent
CGL COHESION GLOBAL LOGISTICS LLCThe Air & Ocean Export Agent is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and execution of international air and ocean export shipments through LAX. This role ensures shipments are processed accurately, compliantly, and on schedule while providing proactive and professional communication to customers, overseas partners, carriers, and internal teams. The position also provides support for air and ocean import operations as required to ensure service continuity and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage air and ocean export shipments from booking through departure and final destination coordination Coordinate with customers, overseas offices, airlines, steamship lines, trucking companies, and warehouses to ensure timely movement of freight Prepare and review export documentation, including MAWB/HAWB, BOLs, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and related shipping documents Monitor shipment milestones, carrier schedules, departures, and delivery status Track and trace shipments; proactively identify, communicate, and resolve delays or service issues Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, carrier requirements, and customer instructions Maintain accurate and complete shipment records within the operating system Provide timely shipment updates and exceptional customer service to clients and overseas partners Verify vendor invoices and ensure accurate billing and cost entries Support air and ocean import operations as needed, including shipment monitoring, documentation review, and customer communication Assist with cargo claims, discrepancies, or service recovery issues when required Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in international air and/or ocean freight forwarding operations, with export experience preferred Strong understanding of air and ocean export documentation and shipping processes Familiarity with U.S. export compliance requirements and international transportation practices Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Proficiency with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Experience handling both air and ocean exports and imports Experience with CargoWise or similar TMS platforms Knowledge of customs clearance processes and import operations Additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish) are considered an asset What Success Looks Like Export shipments move on time, accurately, and in compliance with all requirements Customers and partners receive proactive communication and excellent service Operational issues are identified early and resolved efficiently Shipment files, billing, and documentation are accurate and audit-ready The agent demonstrates ownership, urgency, accountability, and flexibility in supporting both export and import operations as business needs require
