r import shipments from origin through final delivery, maintaining accurate shipment documentation, communicating with customers and logistics partners, and ensuring timely follow-up throughout the import process.
The ideal candidate has previous international freight-forwarding or logistics experience, preferably involving air imports, and is highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple active shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate international air import shipments from origin through final delivery.
• Communicate with customers, overseas agents, U.S. partners, carriers, customs contacts, and internal teams.
• Process pre-alerts and maintain accurate shipment files and documentation.
• Track shipments and provide customers with timely status and ETA updates.
• Coordinate documentation required for customs clearance.
• Arrange trucking and final delivery to customers.
• Prepare customer and agent freight quotations.
• Communicate and negotiate rates with carriers.
• Monitor shipment status, PODs, charges, and final delivery milestones.
• Process shipment payables and customer billing.
• Resolve shipment issues and maintain consistent follow-up.
• Support established quality and ISO procedures.
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of international logistics or freight-forwarding experience preferred.
• Previous air import or international air freight experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of international shipping processes and freight documentation.
• Experience with freight-forwarding or logistics software preferred.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work onsite in Morrisville, NC, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
