Air Freight Director

Head of Airfreight | Houston Overview: My client is a leading international project logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Airfreight to lead and further develop its airfreight business in the Houston region. Key responsibilities: Lead and grow the regional airfreight business, including strategy, revenue and profitability. Manage the airfreight function and develop a high-performing team. Oversee complex shipments, including oversized cargo, special loads and charter operations. Drive new business, customer development and strategic partnerships with airlines and specialist providers. Own budgets, P&L, pricing, quotations and financial performance. Develop cross-border operations and optimise processes, quality and compliance. Work closely with sales, project logistics and international offices to support growth. Monitor market trends and develop innovative solutions for complex cargo requirements. Ideal background: Extensive international airfreight experience, ideally within project, heavy-lift or specialist logistics. Proven leadership and business-development experience. Strong commercial and P&L management capability. Expertise in complex airfreight, charters, oversized cargo and regulatory requirements. Strong customer, airline and stakeholder relationships. Experience building and leading teams. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Degree in logistics, supply chain, business or a related discipline preferred.
