Air Freight Coordinator

Job Title: Air Freight Coordinator Job Location: Detroit, Michigan We have an exciting opportunity for an Air Freight Coordinator to manage the end-to-end movement of airfreight shipments, including airline bookings, tracking, consolidations, linehaul planning, carrier negotiations, and invoice auditing. This role works closely with carriers and internal partners to develop efficient, cost-effective transportation solutions while supporting customer growth and operational performance. Key Responsibilities : Coordinate and manage airfreight bookings with airline partners. Collaborate with internal network partners to optimize routing strategies and transportation costs. Monitor and track shipment movements throughout the transportation lifecycle. Optimize shipment consolidations to maximize efficiency and capacity utilization. Negotiate rates, capacity, and service agreements with airline carriers. Manage truck linehaul planning and execution. Manage airline payables, including carrier invoice review and audit Understanding of TSA regulations to ensure regulatory compliance Create strategic transportation solutions that drive growth within existing accounts and new business opportunities. Skills / Requirements : 1+ year of experience in air freight, supply chain, logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field. BA/BS degree or experience in related discipline Fluent in English communication (verbal/written) Excel, Word and Power Point experience required Ability to balance workload, meet deadlines, and prioritize activities based on operational and business requirements. Highly analytical with the ability to evaluate data and make informed decisions. Ability to develop and manage strategic vendor relationships while negotiating competitive rates and service agreements. Ability to think critically, make decisions quickly, and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment. Pay Range : $61,545.00 - $82,060.00+ (Based on Experience) Benefits (All Non-Union Employees) Compensation: Competitive base salary plus role dependent performance-based incentives. 401(k) Match: $1-for-$1 match up to 4% quarterly + 2% annual base contribution.
