Agriculture Warehouse Lead

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Agriculture Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations within our agricultural distribution center. This role is vital in ensuring efficient inventory management, safe handling of materials, and smooth logistics processes. As the leader of the warehouse team, you will drive process improvements, uphold safety standards, and coordinate shipping and receiving activities to meet operational goals. Your energetic leadership will foster a productive environment focused on accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping of agricultural products. Lead and motivate warehouse staff to achieve high performance levels through effective team management and clear communication. Oversee inventory control processes using warehouse management systems and RF scanners to ensure accuracy and accountability. Coordinate logistics operations with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize distribution center throughput. Implement process improvements utilizing lean management principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline workflows. Operate and oversee the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and other heavy lifting machinery in compliance with OSHA standards. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct regular audits of inventory levels and warehouse conditions; manage shipping & receiving documentation accurately. Train team members on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and the proper operation of equipment. Collaborate with management on strategic planning for warehouse expansion or upgrades to support growing operational needs. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or supply chain management within an agricultural or similar setting. Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment; excellent managerial communication abilities. Proficiency in inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office applications. Skilled in process improvement methodologies such as lean management to optimize workflow efficiency. Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts safely; certified forklift operation preferred. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling techniques, and heavy lifting safety standards. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations and materials handling safety practices. Experience with inventory control techniques including cycle counting and reconciliation processes. Effective problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing documentation and compliance requirements.
