Join Our Team as a Parts Technician:
Join our team as a Parts Technician, where you’ll be customer-facing and commercially accountable for developing and converting spare-parts opportunities for Acieta-integrated automation systems. The role interprets bills of material, drawings, supplier information, equipment criticality, and installed-base data to recommend practical spare quantities; prepares competitively priced quotations using approved margin guidelines and sound market judgment; and follows each opportunity through order, fulfillment, and customer follow-up. This position requires prior industrial automation spare-parts or automation-distribution inside-sales experience and is not a transactional data-entry role.
Essential Functions:
• Own the spare-parts quote-to-order process, including opportunity review, technical clarification, sourcing, pricing, quotation preparation, customer follow-up, order handoff, fulfillment coordination, and issue resolution.
• Review recommended spare-parts lists, bills of material, drawings, and installed equipment information to identify the correct components and recommend reasonable stocking quantities for the customer's equipment and operating needs.
• Determine recommended quantities using sound judgment based on equipment population and commonality, component criticality, failure or consumption history, supplier lead time, obsolescence risk, available redundancy, shelf life, planned maintenance, downtime exposure, and customer budget.
• Prepare competitive quotations by applying approved gross-margin and markup guidelines while considering supplier cost, market pricing, availability, freight, warranty exposure, order size, and commercial risk. Escalate exceptions and significant pricing decisions to the Parts Manager.
• Explain the business and technical rationale behind recommended parts and quantities so customers can make informed decisions about critical spares, consumables, replenishment items, and phased purchases.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Service, Supply Chain, and vendors to validate part numbers, quantities, specifications, substitutions, lifecycle status, and lead times. Ensure field personnel receive the correct parts and supporting information before service work begins, and coordinate the return of unused material.
• Prioritize urgent requests for Acieta-built equipment that is down or at risk of downtime. Communicate clearly with customers regarding availability, alternatives, shipment status, and recovery plans, and keep the Parts Manager informed of escalations or customer dissatisfaction.
• Develop customer relationships through timely quote follow-up, proactive replenishment discussions, and identification of additional spare-parts, service, preventive-maintenance, upgrade, or obsolescence opportunities. Maintain an active opportunity pipeline rather than limiting the role to incoming order entry.
• Maintain accurate quote, order, customer, pricing, and supplier records in the applicable ERP, CRM, and document-management systems. Use these systems to support selling decisions and execution, not as the primary purpose of the role.
