ConfidentialJob Description: The Sanford Mainers are seeking a highly motivated and organized Administrative Assistant Intern to assist with the day-to-day operations of the organization's business office as preparations begin for the 2027 baseball season. Reporting to the team's Office & Sales Manager, this position provides hands-on experience in sports administration, customer service, sales support, event preparation, and front office operations. The Administrative Assistant Intern will play an important role in helping the organization execute preseason initiatives, support organizational goals, and maintain efficient office operations. This internship is ideal for students pursuing careers in sports management, business administration, communications, marketing, or related fields. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Answering phone calls, emails, and general inquiries while directing requests to the appropriate staff member or committee. Providing administrative and clerical support to the Sanford Mainers front office. Assisting with ticket sales, merchandise sales, and customer service initiatives. Supporting season ticket, sponsorship, and promotional campaigns. Assisting with the production and organization of schedules, tickets, promotional materials, and other team publications. Maintaining accurate records, databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems. Assisting with data entry and reporting projects. Supporting the execution of community outreach efforts, special events, and organizational projects. Assisting with inventory management for merchandise and office supplies. Supporting game-day and event planning efforts leading up to the season. Completing additional administrative and operational duties as assigned. Requirements: This is a hybrid internship position with opportunities for both in-office and remote work. Candidates must be flexible in their availability outside of their regular academic schedule and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team. A professional and customer-focused attitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher (or comparable design software). Basic familiarity with data management and office technology. Experience in customer service, sales, fundraising, or public relations is preferred. Interest in sports management, business operations, or baseball is a plus. Reliable transportation to and from the Sanford Mainers front office. Other details: The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a wide variety of administrative responsibilities while contributing ideas, creativity, and problem-solving skills to organizational projects. Some assignments may be completed remotely; however, regular communication and collaboration with front office staff will be expected. This internship follows the duration of the spring academic semester, from January through May 2027, and is highly encouraged for students seeking college credit within their field of study. As the season approaches, the scope of responsibilities will continue to expand, providing additional opportunities for professional growth and hands-on experience in collegiate summer baseball operations.
