Cost Accountant – Plant Operations & Supply Chain Location: Jerome, Idaho Job Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a Cost Accountant – Plant Operations & Supply Chain to join our team in Jerome, Idaho. This is a hands-on role that combines cost accounting, inventory management, production support, supply chain coordination, and ERP system management. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring our plant has accurate financial and inventory information, the materials needed for production, and reliable reporting to support business decisions. Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis Manage plant-level cost accounting activities. Prepare and analyze monthly cost and inventory reports. Perform monthly inventory and fixed asset closing activities. Analyze inventory, COGS, production, maintenance, and site costs. Perform absorption analysis and inventory reasonableness reviews. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning for raw materials and fixed assets. Assist with year-end audits and mid-year financial reviews. Maintain accurate fixed asset records and perform related reconciliations. Support General Ledger activities as needed. Inventory & Production Maintain accurate and reliable plant inventory records. Reconcile daily production activity in the Oracle ERP system. Manage work orders from job opening through material consumption and final closure. Provide daily production and inventory reports to plant management. Coordinate physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies. Ensure materials required for production are available when needed. Maintain inventory in a clean, organized, and production-ready condition. Monitor inventory transactions, production reporting, and material consumption for accuracy. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinate supply activities to ensure uninterrupted production. Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities. Monitor material availability and work with internal teams to resolve supply issues. Coordinate the management and handling of recyclable materials. Accounting & Accounts Payable Enter and post AP invoices, with and without purchase orders. Organize and maintain incoming invoice documentation. Support daily bookkeeping and accounting activities. Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting. Support audits, reconciliations, and other accounting activities as needed. Oracle ERP Serve as the key Oracle ERP user for the Jerome plant. Monitor and maintain accurate ERP transactions related to inventory, production, work orders, and costing. Assist team members with Oracle processes and troubleshoot transaction issues. Help ensure ERP data is accurate, complete, and reliable. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Experience in cost accounting, plant accounting, inventory, manufacturing, or supply chain preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Experience working with an ERP system; Oracle experience is highly desirable. Strong Excel and financial reporting skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving. Ability and willingness to travel internationally and globally as required. Must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
