Account Manager

Day in The Life Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned book of shipper accounts. Quote and book freight, and build pricing that wins loads while protecting margin. Grow existing accounts by adding lanes, modes and volume. Work closely with Carrier Reps to cover loads and keep service on track. Proactively communicate shipment status, delays and exceptions to customers. Resolve service issues, claims and billing questions quickly and professionally. Hold regular business reviews with key accounts on volume, service and pricing. Keep accurate account notes and load details in our CRM and TMS. The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned. Requirements: Education/Work Experience High School Diploma or GED required. 2+ years of account management, customer service or sales experience in freight brokerage, 3PL or transportation. Strong understanding of truckload and LTL freight, pricing and the load lifecycle. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Confident on the phone and in front of decision makers. Self-driven and competitive, with the discipline to work independently. Solid decision-making skills. Sound judgement and discretion, knowing when and how to negotiate terms. Self-Starter and highly motivated. Coachable. Ability to multi-task. Attentive to detail and deadlines. Can work independently or with a team. Organized in a fast-paced work environment. Strong PC, phone skills and excellent customer service skills.
