Role Description The Account Executive/Freight Broker is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area And Phoenix, AZ Area. This role is responsible for sourcing and managing freight opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with shippers and carriers, and negotiating competitive rates. Daily activities include prospecting new clients, managing existing accounts, coordinating shipments, tracking loads, covering trucks and resolving service issues. The person in this role will collaborate closely with internal and external operations teams to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, accurate documentation, and strong communication with all stakeholders. The role also involves monitoring market conditions, identifying margin opportunities, and contributing to revenue growth by meeting and exceeding sales and performance targets. Qualifications Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, or logistics account management, including managing shipper and carrier relationships. Strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships. Ability to manage multiple loads and accounts simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency with logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), and basic Excel/office tools. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear phone, email, and in-person communication. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems quickly, and making data-informed decisions. Prior experience in freight brokerage or trucking operations is highly beneficial; knowledge of North American lanes and modes is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or related field is an asset. Willingness to work on-site in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area Or Phoenix AZ area and collaborate closely with a team-focused culture.
