3PL Warehouse Lead

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 3PL Warehouse Lead to oversee and coordinate warehouse operations within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment. This role is vital in ensuring efficient distribution center activities, maintaining high standards of safety, inventory accuracy, and process excellence. Responsibilities Supervise daily warehouse distribution activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and materials handling. Lead and motivate warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on safety, productivity, and quality. Oversee the operation of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, and RF scanners to ensure accurate stock levels and order fulfillment. Coordinate process improvements using lean management principles to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce waste. Operate or supervise the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, ensuring safe handling of goods and compliance with OSHA standards. Manage shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring timely dispatches and arrivals while maintaining accurate documentation. Conduct regular audits of inventory levels using inventory control techniques; implement corrective actions as needed to prevent discrepancies. Enforce safety protocols related to heavy lifting, equipment operation, and materials handling to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize distribution center operations and support client requirements. Skills Extensive experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations within a 3PL setting. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems (IMS), and OS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Proven ability to lead teams effectively with excellent managerial communication skills. Skilled in process improvement methodologies such as lean management to streamline operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation purposes. Ability to operate or supervise the use of forklift trucks and other heavy lifting equipment safely. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment operation, and OSHA safety standards. Familiarity with distribution center operations including inventory control techniques and materials handling best practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and warehouse processes.
