Duties Safely operate a 26ft box truck for local deliveries and moves, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload items using manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices and proper weight distribution. Drive route schedules efficiently while maintaining punctuality and professionalism on the road. Assist with moving furniture or equipment, utilizing manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks or dollies when necessary. Communicate effectively with customers during delivery or pickup appointments, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns professionally. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and digital records using mobile devices or company software. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or courier services involving box trucks or similar vehicles. Valid driver’s license required. Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety protocols for weight handling in the workplace, and adherence to traffic regulations. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to lift heavy items safely while following proper manual handling procedures.
