26’ Box Truck Owner Operator – Lease-On Opportunity Company: SLS Freight / Smith Logistical Services Ltd. Co. Position Type: Independent Contractor / Owner Operator Equipment: 26’ Box Truck Routes: Regional & Over-the-Road (OTR) 26’ BOX TRUCK OWNER-OPERATORS WANTED SLS Freight is expanding our owner-operator network and is currently accepting applications from 26-foot box truck owner-operators interested in leasing onto our carrier operation. This is NOT a company-driver position. You must own, finance, or lease your own road-ready 26-foot box truck. SLS Freight does not provide trucks. We provide dispatch, freight sourcing, broker communication, administrative support, load management, tracking, and settlement support so our owner-operators can focus on safely operating their equipment and completing loads. COMPENSATION Owner-operators receive: 75% of gross load revenue The owner-operator is responsible for a 3.5% factoring fee, deducted from the owner-operator’s 75% portion. Example: If a load pays $2,000 gross: Owner-operator 75% share: $1,500 3.5% factoring fee: $70 Owner-operator settlement before any other applicable deductions/expenses: $1,430 Compensation is percentage-based. This opportunity does not include an hourly wage or fixed salary. SLS Freight does not guarantee specific weekly revenue, mileage, load volume, or freight availability. Actual revenue depends on freight availability, market conditions, equipment, operating area, availability, broker/customer requirements, and loads accepted by the owner-operator. OWNER-OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Owner-operators are responsible for operating their own independent business and providing their own equipment. Responsibilities include: Providing your own 26’ box truck Fuel Maintenance and repairs Tolls and applicable operating expenses Maintaining required vehicle documentation Maintaining required insurance/documentation Keeping your truck road-ready Completing required vehicle inspections Proper cargo securement Safe and legal operation of your equipment Maintaining communication while under dispatch Providing accurate pickup and delivery updates Using required tracking systems when applicable Submitting PODs and other required load documentation Following SLS Freight safety and compliance requirements EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS You must have access to a road-ready 26-foot box truck capable of safely transporting commercial freight. Applicants should be prepared to provide: Truck year, make, and model VIN Vehicle registration GVWR Current insurance documentation Equipment photographs Applicable driver documentation Cargo securement and freight-handling equipment may include: Cargo straps Load bars E-track equipment Pallet jack Moving blankets Additional securement equipment appropriate for the freight being transported Specific equipment requirements may vary depending on the freight.
