Central Garden & PetDescription GENERAL SUMMARY: Central Home Brands is seeking a Warehouse Associate with Forklift experience (1st Shift) to support our shipping and warehouse operations. This role is essential to efficiently picking customer orders, cleaning, packing, palletizing, and loading finished goods. The ideal candidate can perform all aspects of warehouse tasks in a fast paced environment and work collaboratively to meet tight schedules safely and efficiently. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow and understand verbal and written instructions with strong attention to detail. Operate forklifts (order pickers) safely and effectively, understanding their functions, limitations, and basic maintenance needs. Learn and apply all machine operation and safety procedures. Pick, pack, consolidate, wrap, and load orders onto delivery trucks in the proper and balanced sequence. Maintain accuracy when consolidating and loading orders. Cross train and perform tasks in other warehouse roles as needed. Rotate between various job tasks efficiently throughout the shift. Multitask and prioritize workload effectively. Work closely with team members to promote collaboration and maintain workflow. Assist in training new team members in departmental procedures. Ensure compliance with all Safety and Quality standards, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain a clean and hazard free work area to prevent accidents. Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or unsafe practices immediately to a supervisor. Perform additional duties assigned by management to support overall operations. REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, and carrying for extended periods. Experience in shipping, warehouse, distribution, or general labor preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to learn and understand SAP/scanner functions. Basic understanding of workplace safety and willingness to follow all PPE requirements. Ability to perform simple math (addition and subtraction). Ability to learn and maintain required quality standards in daily tasks. Ability to handle high-volume workflow in a fast-paced environment. Ability to become certified and safely operate an order picker, electric pallet jack, reach truck, shrink wrapper, and other equipment as required. Must have reliable transportation. Maintain regular, punctual attendance; ability to work extended hours as required. Must be able to work full schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Schedule subject to change).
