s warehouse personnel, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures materials are available to support safe, efficient production and maintenance activities.
The supervisor works closely with Procurement, Production, Maintenance, and Finance to prevent material shortages, control excess inventory, and improve warehouse processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily operations: Coordinate receiving, inspection, storage, picking, issuance, returns, and shipment of hardware, spare parts, and supplies.
• Maintain inventory accuracy: Ensure all material movements are recorded promptly and accurately in the ERP/WMS, with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Conduct inventory checks: Organize cycle counts and physical inventories, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions and approved adjustments.
• Support production and maintenance: Prioritize material requests and ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies, including critical items needed to minimize equipment downtime.
• Manage stock levels: Work with Procurement and Maintenance to establish appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels, monitor critical spares, and identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory.
• Supervise the team: Assign tasks, coordinate coverage, train employees, and provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Maintain safe operations: Enforce company safety procedures for material handling, equipment use, storage, and housekeeping; promptly report hazards and incidents.
• Improve warehouse organization: Maintain clear labeling, designated storage locations, accessible aisles, and efficient use of warehouse space.
• Control material issuance: Maintain records of material requests, departmental usage, tool checkouts, and returns to support accountability and cost tracking.
• Resolve receiving issues: Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers on shortages, damage, incorrect items, and returns.
• Track performance: Prepare reports on inventory accuracy, material availability, receiving and issuance activity, and warehouse productivity.
• Drive improvements: Identify and implement practical improvements to workflows, inventory controls, and service to internal departments.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed, following required training and company authorization.
Qualifications
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of warehouse, inventory control, or logistics experience, including two years in a supervisory or team-lead role.
• Working knowledge of receiving, storage, material issuance, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
• Experience using an ERP or warehouse management system and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing requests.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and consistent operating procedures.
Preferred
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) warehouse.
• Familiarity with industrial hardware, fasteners, bearings, tools, and mechanical or electrical spare parts.
• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Previous forklift training and operating experience.
• Experience implementing warehouse process improvements or 5S practices.
