SUMMARY: Responsible for administration of company policies to warehouse personnel, monitoring and improving productivity, quality, maintaining cost control methods within the position area of supervision and development of personnel reporting to this position. Helps to lead and control activities of company warehouse personnel and related functions through moderate direction of shift manager. Ensures shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution activities are performed in an efficient manner. Take precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss and damage. Retains and reviews specific warehouse documents and reports to ensure established methods and procedures are followed.
Supervisory levels I, II, III will include increased levels of responsibilities within this job description, including temporary assignments to fill in for the Shift Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One to two years supervisory experience and/or experience working in a grocery warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
