ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Gathers and packages finished materials/products to be shipped out to customers by
• Reading computer generated pick list to locate racks to pull parts for orders.
• Pulling completed parts from bins and racks and places them in boxes or pallets for shipping.
• Recording materials packaged on order pick list to ensure accuracy.
• Regularly using forklifts for pulling parts, moving palletized orders, and loading of orders onto trucks.
• Ensuring all pulled parts are labeled properly.
• Using nylon banding and banding tools to secure parts to pallets for shipping.
• Using shrink wrap and heat gun to shrink wrap pallets to prepare for shipping.
• Labeling all boxes and pallets with proper "ship to" address using computer printed labels and prepares bills of lading.
• Operating company truck/van to transfer material between Sterling Building and Burke Main Campus.
• Unloading trucks and maintain inventory of plastic parts at Sterling Building
• Maintaining excellent working knowledge of parts and part identification for accuracy in pulling of orders.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Verifies parts received against packing lists and provides packing lists to purchasing daily.
Completes Receiving Duties by
• Maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Proper documentation completion by counting and recording units delivered and location of units accurately
• Maintaining in-process inventory by delivering and opening materials and supplies
• Daily monitoring of parcel packages received and distributing them promptly campus-wide
• Receiving credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes, lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
Contributes to team effort
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Complies with procedures, rules and regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic to Intermediate Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must be BCI Burke forklift certified.
• Able to operate hand tools such as heat shrink gun, air stapler, electric bander, tape measure
• Must be detail and team member oriented.
