As a Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of our Lower Mainland warehouse. You will support traffic safety and roadside safety products such as guard rails, crash cushions, and other related systems. The Warehouse Manager will play a key role in the hands-on operational support, people leadership, and purchasing / supply chain support. You will be responsible for leading the warehouse floor, maintaining accountability for planning, inventory accuracy, workplace safety, and additional administrative responsibilities.
What you will be responsible for:
Warehouse Operations, Distribution, and Inventory Management
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of products.
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of internal and external orders.
- Support product distribution for construction projects, maintenance crews, and customer deliveries.
- Maintain warehouse layout, organization, and cleanliness to support efficiency and safety.
- Ensure all inbound and outbound transactions are accurately recorded in the system.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, lead regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts, and monitor stocking levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Operations to improve inventory turns and reduce excess and/or obsolete stock.
Purchasing and Stocking Support
- Assist with creating and managing purchase orders for stocked and non-stocked items for the Lower Mainland location.
- Support stocking decisions based on historical usage, upcoming projects, and seasonal demand.
- Coordinate with suppliers on deliveries, lead times, and order issues.
- Work closely with centralized procurement to ensure compliance with purchasing policies and preferred vendors.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Provide daily direction and support to warehouse team members.
- Establish clear expectations and ensure daily responsibilities are completed.
- Develop efficient work schedules to meet operational demand.
- Monitor labour hours, overtime, and productivity.
- Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve skills and performance.
- Work with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, discipline, and terminations when required.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all safety procedures and safe operating procedures are followed.
- Confirm all team members have required safety training and certifications.
- Complete and review required documentation including FLHAs, incident reports, and safety inspections.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the warehouse and yard environment.
Equipment, Yard, and Facility Management
- Ensure all safety procedures and safe operating procedures are followed.

Budgeting and Administration
- Manage warehouse-related operating expenses and maintenance budgets.
- Support the Director of Operations with budget planning and forecasting.
- Review and approve employee timecards and vacation requests.
- Ensure paperwork and records are accurate, complete, and filed appropriately.
Customer and Site Support
- Interact with internal and external customers by phone, email, and in person.
- Support customer inquiries related to product availability, deliveries, and returns.
- Visit customer or job sites as required to support operations or resolve issues.

What we need from you:
- 4+ years of experience in a Warehouse Operations or related position, where safety was a top priority.
- A minimum of 1-2+ years of experience in a warehouse management level position is required.
- Strong computer literacy is required.
- Previous experience with inventory management systems or experience with SAP and/or Sage is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with purchasing, budgeting, and/or forecasting is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience with yard and equipment maintenance and management.
- Experience with administrative duties such as record keeping, documentation, and filing.
- Physically able to perform various warehouse duties including stocking, staging, and shifting, which may include heavy lifting of up to 75 pounds.
- Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to lead an efficient team, communicate expectations, and monitor performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to foster strong working and customer relationships.
- Outstanding safety awareness and knowledge of safety procedures and compliance is essential.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- A strong ability to work in a fast paced environment and under pressure.
