The Opportunity
The Coordinator, Warehouse is the link between the cultivation and primary packaging teams, responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transfer of wet plant material between Village Farms International’s Canadian Cannabis Division facilities. The role combines hands-on physical work — moving and staging large bins of freshly harvested cannabis — with constant coordination and communication across teams to keep material moving on schedule. Because this handoff sits directly between harvest and packaging, speed, reliability, and clear communication are essential; delays or breakdowns at this step ripple straight through to downstream production. This role maintains safe, compliant material handling in full accordance with Health Canada regulations, the Cannabis Act, GMP, and GPP requirements.
What You'll Do
Wet Plant Transfers & Material Movement
- Move, load, and stage large bins of wet cannabis for transfer between the cultivation and packaging facilities
- Ensure material is handled, secured, and transported in a way that protects product quality and integrity in transit
- Prioritize and sequence transfers to match harvest output and packaging demand, keeping material flowing without bottlenecks
- Verify counts, weights, and lot information at pickup and drop-off, flagging discrepancies immediately
Inter-Facility Driving & Logistics
- Operate a company vehicle to transport wet plant material safely and on schedule between facilities
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report any issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Plan transfer runs around production timing to minimize wait time on either end
Coordination & Communication
- Act as the central point of contact between cultivation and primary packaging, keeping both teams aligned on transfer timing and status
- Communicate delays, changes, or issues in real time so downstream teams can adjust
- Coordinate closely with the Supervisor, Warehouse and production leads to sequence transfers against the daily schedule
Systems & Documentation
- Record transfers, movements, and inventory transactions accurately in the WMS/ERP system
- Maintain accurate lot traceability and transfer records to support inventory accuracy and compliance
- Complete required transfer documentation completely and legibly
GMP Compliance & Safety
- Follow all Health Canada, Cannabis Act, and Good Production Practices (GPP) requirements applicable to material handling and transfer
- Maintain product segregation, cleanliness, and proper handling standards throughout the transfer process
- Work safely, wear required PPE, and follow all safe lifting, driving, and material-handling procedures
OTHER DUTIES
At Village Farms we are all growers at heart. Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we’re bringing the best our plants and people have to offer to our consumers. This means other duties may arise since we work together to ensure we support all business activities – seed to sale.
This role is on-site, which requires you to work on facility at all times in a Warehouse Coordinator role or directly supporting operations.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; demonstrated driving experience is required
- Prior warehouse, logistics, production, or material-handling experience is an asset
- Comfortable with computers and able to learn and use WMS/ERP systems for transactions and record-keeping
Knowledge & Skills
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and moving of large, heavy bins of wet plant material throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work with a sense of urgency without cutting corners on safety or accuracy
- Organized and detail-oriented, with accurate counting, recording, and documentation habits
- Able to work independently and make sound calls on timing and prioritization throughout the day
- Team-first mindset with the flexibility to adapt as harvest and packaging schedules shift
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and moving of large, heavy bins of wet plant material throughout the shift
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and repetitive material handling
- Regular driving between facilities
- Work performed across warehouse and production environments, including cooler or controlled-temperature areas as required
