The Warehouse Clerk reports directly to the Logistics Operations Manager and is responsible for assisting in operations to securely store, prepare, ship, service and maintain inventory of a fleet of portable computers, computer accessories, and various other electronic devices and support equipment for the Field Services contract with FEMA.  Responsibilities include assisting WSP in the deployment of computers and other materials to support staff and housing inspectors in the field in response to federal disaster declarations.  Candidate will assist in all operations to maintain equipment, goods and warehouse facility in preparation for such events. Candidate will utilize technical experience to ensure computer equipment is properly maintained and configured, and to diagnosis and repair damaged equipment, while maintaining accuracy of inventory control. 

Must have strong analytical skills, ability to work in a dynamic environment, adjust to a flexible schedule that includes long hours, weekends, hybrid work environment and 24-hour operations. This position is full-time and involves periodic overtime with little to no notice based on varying disaster activity and client requirements.  

Your Impact

These tasks and functions are as stated, but not limited to, in the following:

Readiness

  • Organize storage of equipment and other goods
  • Organize and test computer equipment and other electronic devices
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on mobile tablet computers and other electronic devices
  • Maintain strict inventory control using an electronic inventory management system
  • Perform monthly and annual equipment audits
  • Process and inventory new computer equipment
  • Configure, troubleshoot and repair mobile tablet computers and associated devices
  • Provide technical support for both Windows based laptops and Apple tablet computers (iPads).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Deployment

  • Prepare and test computer equipment and peripherals for field deployment in time sensitive on-demand scenarios
  • Arrange for transport and/or shipping of computer equipment and other goods to various locations
  • Work with shipping vendors to manage on-time delivery and ensure accuracy of logistic operations
  • Available on call for emergency deployment of equipment
  • Coordinate with IT team in planning and deployment readiness
  • Work with field staff to ensure all needs are met as required
  • Oversee daily shipping/receiving to and from field teams. 

Required Qualifications

  • HS diploma. 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; experience working with FEMA emergency management strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated analytical, collaboration, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
  • Experience in logistics and inventory management systems desired.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with FEMA grant programs preferred.
