Job Description

Warehouse Clerk

The Warehouse Clerk in Burlington, Ontario, is responsible for the preparation and handling of all paperwork and computer data entry related to the shipping of orders and the receiving of materials. This role ensures accurate documentation, supports efficient warehouse operations, and maintains timely processing of shipping and receiving transactions.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Processing billing, scanning documents (BOLs, MTRs), maintaining accurate records and assisting customers at the service desk.

  • Transportation Coordination: Coordinating truck scheduling, delivery appointments, and transportation documentation to support daily warehouse operations.

  • Logistics Documentation: Creating and updating digital transfer manifests and ensuring shipment accuracy.

  • Data Management: Maintaining operational records, verifying documentation accuracy, coordinating administrative requests, and supporting general office operations.

  • Communication: Coordinating information flow between warehouse staff, sales staff, and customers to support daily operations.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: A high school diploma is the minimum requirement. Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative, warehouse, or logistics support role, within a metals, manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent attention to detail; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry, documentation and invoice verification.

  • Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain organized records.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in shipments, documentation, and scheduling.

Typical Working Conditions

  • Environment: Office-based, within the branch or warehouse setting.

  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

  • Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary with extended periods of sitting and computer use; occasional standing, walking within the warehouse, and light lifting (up to 20 lbs).

 

Compensation Information - $45,000 to $55,000 per year, based on experience
