The company’s Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex in Port Arthur, TX, is comprised of North America’s largest refinery with a total throughput of 720,000 barrels per day, the largest base oil plant in the western hemisphere, and an integrated chemical plant. Position Overview:

The VP, Supply Chain is responsible for leading Motiva’s non-hydrocarbon supply chain, overseeing end-to-end procurement, category management, logistics, and supply chain operations. This role provides strategic leadership across internal and external supply chain functions, including planning, contracting, and operational execution, while continuously advancing best practices and performance outcomes. The VP will also oversee facilities management for Motiva’s headquarters at One Allen Center in Houston. Reporting to the CFO, this leader will serve as a key member of the Finance leadership team and lead an organization of 55+ employees. The ideal candidate will operate effectively in a dynamic environment, balancing near-term execution with long-term strategic vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function focused on non-hydrocarbon procurement

  • Serve as a member of the CFO’s leadership team, contributing to enterprise strategy

  • Drive alignment across business units to optimize cost, service levels, and risk management

  • Ensure compliance with Motiva’s contracting, procurement, and governance standards

  • Manage price, demand, specifications, and supply risk across the non-hydrocarbon supply chain

  • Ensures compliance with Motiva’s policies and procedures related to contracting and procurement

  • Develop and implement systems, processes, and controls to enhance supply chain performance

  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to enhance competitiveness and value

  • Partner with Aramco and affiliates (ASC, Arlanxeo, SABIC, Valvoline etc.) to identify and capture supply chain synergies

  • Provides strategic, operational, and tactical procurement services to the company. This includes category management, process improvement, contracting, warehousing, and purchasing services for Port Arthur Manufacturing Complex (PAMC), Marketing & Sales, Terminals and Pipelines (T&P), HR, IT, etc. The team includes the following sub-teams:

    • Direct category management including but not limited to support of mechanical services. Catalysts, materials, scaffolding services, rentals, Terminals & Pipelines support, etc.

    • Indirect category management including but not limited to support of IT software, IT services, consulting services, subscriptions, travel management, land management, etc.  Motiva’s land program consists of various real estate holdings and continuous management of ROWs, easements, etc. in all its geographies.

    • Accounts Payable and Process improvement team focused on all policies, procedures, processes, and systems utilized by supply chain. This team also includes the purchasing team that creates requisitions and purchase orders daily.

    • PAMC site team focused on implementation of category strategies and contracting & procurement support of various departments (e.g. turnarounds, projects, maintenance, etc.). This team also includes warehousing and materials management.

    • Facilities team focused on managing Motiva’s footprint at Allen Center. This includes providing all facilities maintenance, construction and general support (e.g. mail room services), managing Motiva’s lease agreements, etc.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering accountability, inclusion, and professional development

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence

  • International travel required periodically (minimum once annually)

  • Occasional domestic travel as business needs dictate

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or relevant fields.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in supply chain, procurement, or commercial roles, including 7+ years in progressive leadership positions, with experience leading multi-functional teams and developing leaders

  • Demonstrated success leading through layers of leadership in a complex, matrixed organization

  • Strong commercial acumen and advanced negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and external partners

  • Flexibility to changing business requirements and managing challenging situations

  • Proven leadership experience in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute in a fast-paced setting

  • Demonstrated leadership presence and maturity.

  • High level of judgment, initiative, and decision-making capability.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Mastery of contracting and contract management / strong commercial acumen

  • Strong knowledge of SAP and Ariba, or similar systems

  • Experience leveraging digital tools such as AI or advanced analytics in supply chain

  • Knowledge of various categories in our non-hydrocarbon supply chain (e.g. IT, mechanical services, construction services, chemicals and catalysts, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, controls, and governance
