The Vice President of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for a designated market within the service line. This role drives financial performance, client relationships, and operational excellence while partnering with clinical leadership to ensure quality care delivery.

Responsibilities

Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Build and implement market plan with associated targets, including P&L responsibility, financial and revenue growth, operations and labor management, contract management and clinical outcomes within the market
  • Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to ensure sustainability
  • Collaborate with finance and other key stakeholders on budget, forecasting and resource allocation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and operational quality
  • Drive Monthly Operating Reviews with key Clinical, Operational and Finance leadership
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies

Strategic Partnerships & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a key contact for client facilities/offices or establish the appropriate structure to interface with clients on a regular basis, including direct contact with the C-Suite
  • Assist in the design of systems and methods to assess client satisfaction for facilities, providers, & other key stakeholders on a regular basis, including time frames, communication mechanisms, and strategies to improve
  • Collaborate with the appropriate clinical executive or clinical team to effectively respond to feedback from clients
  • Lead the negotiation of hospital contracts and the daily coordination and management of operational issues with both hospital administration, operators and clinician leaders
  • Interface with recruitment staff to ensure that the appropriate processes are in place to identify and place potential candidates in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Represent Operations within Envision on cross-functional process improvements.
  • Maintain working relationships within Envision with key stakeholders, including but not limited to; Service Line Clinical Leadership, Finance, Clinical Support, Legal, Recruiting, Scheduling, Credentialing, Enrollment and Human Resources.

Business Development & Integration

  • Assist Business Development as needed by participating in business development meetings, providing required specialty-specific information, obtaining and disseminating pertinent information, or serving as key contact in current facilities or offices related to cross-selling or expansion of services
  • Assist Business Development to identify opportunities for service line expansion and partnerships
  • Participate in the acquisition and organic growth due diligence process by reviewing and understanding proformas and the financial impact of new facilities
  • Ensure the effective operationalization of acquisitions and organic growth contracts, including participation in relevant meetings, establishing budgets and ongoing assessment and recalibration of new business

Leadership & Talent Management

  • Leads an Operations Team who oversee multiple sites
  • Provides direction and support to Operations Team on driving initiatives, performance, and accountability of their practices and systems
  • Leads the growth and development of Directors of Operations, providing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback preparing them for broader leadership roles
  • Assists Directors of Operations with their most complex and challenging operational activities
  • Establishes clear performance expectations for direct reports
  • Promotes engagement through transparent communication, recognition, and inclusion in decision-making


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or relevant field strongly preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience as a leader in physician practice management or healthcare management with extensive physician interface at a multi-site level
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience
  • Previous experience leading a team required

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Electronic Health Record systems
  • Understanding of scheduling software and management dashboards
