Could you be the VIE - Indirect Buyer  in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your sourcing and procurement expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the seamless sourcing of indirect commodities to support Alstom’s operations across Canada. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and more), manage vendor relationships, and implement cost-saving strategies, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of sourcing indirect goods and services, managing vendor compliance, and maintaining e-procurement tools, but also provide support during audits and process compliance checks.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing and implementing cost-saving strategies
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to define scopes of work, KPIs, and SLAs
  • Managing vendor relationships and assessing performance
  • Resolving commercial and contractual issues with suppliers
  • Administering and maintaining vendor management and e-procurement tools
  • Supporting management during internal and external audits

  • Master’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or Business
  • At least one year of experience in indirect sourcing or related activities
  • Experience or understanding of e-procurement tools
  • Knowledge of vendor management and compliance processes
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Effective communication skills in a multi-cultural environment

Duration of mission: 24 months

Target start date: July 1, 2026

Compensation

Throughout your assignment you receive a fixed monthly allowance at the end of the month. 
Part of this allowance is the same for all volunteers (€ 772.87 /month); and another part called "geographical" which varies quarterly according to your country/city of assignment.
