The Transportation Technician is an entry-level position that focuses on inspecting construction projects and related activities. In this role, you will provide inspection services to ensure that all work meets contract specifications, aiming to minimize costs while maintaining high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include reviewing documentation for completed work and materials to confirm their accuracy and compliance with departmental policies. You will also help manage and organize the District's field construction project records and support various areas such as the PennDOT Project Collaboration Center and Labor Compliance. Additionally, you will assist in conducting inspections at different stages of highway construction, ensuring that grades and elevations are correct and that work zone traffic control signs and devices are properly placed and maintained according to established guidelines.
