Main responsibilities:

The Transportation Supervisor will oversee transportation operations for one shift, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to stores. This includes supervising department activities, coordinating schedules, and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards. 

The position will be based in Auburn, WA. 

  • Supervise Transportation Department activities and associates on one shift to ensure adherence to company, distribution center, and department guidelines.
  • Ensure merchandise is delivered to stores in the best possible condition.
  • Coordinate backhauls with Procurement and Traffic staff.
  • Maintain pre-set delivery schedules and communicate any scheduling issues to management.
  • Work with warehouse personnel to align delivery timing.
  • Maintain positive relationships with store management through calls and visits; keep a daily customer/driver communication log.
  • Ensure drivers comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Verify drivers follow proper check-in/out procedures and complete pre-trip safety checks.
  • Conduct road tests as required. 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Transportation experience, including trailer loading and store delivery procedures; basic scheduling knowledge.
  • Ability to motivate and work through others to achieve results.
  • Strong communication and public relations skills.
  • General knowledge of computer applications; prior experience with personal computer systems helpful.
  • Analytical ability for administrative tasks and mental alertness for accurate, safe work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working under typical warehouse conditions with potential hazards related to equipment and vehicle movement.

Corporate & SCM (NON-UNION): WA: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
