As a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor, you will work in the Transportation Planning Division within the Traffic Support Unit to provide analytical and technical assistance for the collection of traffic information. You will supervise Transportation Planning Specialists who are responsible for collecting portable traffic data and maintaining permanent in-pavement traffic monitoring sites to provide traffic data used for and by multiple resources, including the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS). You will also oversee asset management functions including the development of permanent in-pavement traffic monitoring site maintenance or repair needs, and the development of work statements and specifications included in bid solicitation for various traffic projects.
