SUMMARY
Assists the Director, Transportation & Logistics in directing the flow and movement of donations and salvage by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least important.
Supervises staff of the Transportation Department in the absence of/and at the direction of the Director, Transportation & Logistics.
Supervises the Salvage Operation and ensures that salvage goals are met.
Communicates and coordinates with all vendors on transportation and bale machine issues.
Prepares, posts and emails the Daily Driver Schedule each morning which reflects what each store will be receiving, based on their bin order the prior night.
Assigns each driver a daily route and a vehicle to operate, indicated on Daily Driver Schedule.
Works directly with Store Management to ensure their Transportation needs are met and addresses any issues that may arise.
Works cooperatively with the Operations Manager to service the ADCs.
Works cooperatively with the Corporate Donations Manager to place trailers before and after donation drives and coordinates the pickups for Corporate Donations.
Loads and unloads donated items and salvage from trucks.
Receives, processes, ships and tracks new goods and store supply orders.
Responds to questions and concerns from store managers or other management personnel and resolves problems.
Ensures that warehouse is arranged to efficiently and safely utilize space.
Reports known or suspected security and/or theft issues to Director of Transportation & Logistics.
Performs duties of Truck Driver as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Transportation Department team members and department activities in the absence of/and at the direction of the Director, Transportation & Logistics. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and reporting circumstances to the Director, Transportation & Logistics.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other job-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Transportation & Logistics.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of transportation or warehouse supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License (Class C), safe driving record (as determined by the Agency's insurance carrier) and thorough knowledge of D.O.T. regulations. Must obtain forklift operations certification after employed.
