The Estacada School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Coordinator to lead and oversee all aspects of our transportation program. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services that support students, families, and staff across the district.

 

We are looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can build strong teams, streamline operations, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Position Summary

The Transportation Coordinator provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for all district transportation operations. This role leads department staff, manages systems and resources, and ensures transportation services are aligned with district priorities and student needs. The Coordinator plays a critical role in fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence, while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in school or public transportation
  • At least three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including pupil transportation compliance standards
  • Experience with fleet management, routing software, safety programs, and staff supervision
  • Valid driver’s license; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to meet State and District physical requirements related to school bus operation (per OAR 581-53-005)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Transportation Management, or related field
  • Experience leading transportation operations in a K–12 school district
  • Experience working within a union or collective bargaining environment
  • Strong background in budget development, procurement, and contract management
  • Demonstrated success improving operational efficiency and implementing system-wide initiatives
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish preferred)

SALARY, BENEFITS, CONTRACT  

  • $90,525.76-107,512.08/year for Fiscal year 25/26 (This will be pro-rated for actual days worked and dependent upon verified years of experience).
  • 4-day student week / 5-day staff week - View school calendars here
  • Year-Round Position: 260 days, including 11 paid holidays
  • Employee paid PERS

  • 1 year probationary period
