This position is primarily focused on providing assistance and data analysis to the Distribution team. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy vision, mission, and the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in forecasting duties for warehouse capacity and transportation needs.
- Analysis of current models and cost structures to identify issues and opportunities.
- Gathering and validation of data from product movement and available inventory.
- Daily scorecard completion on transportation activities and opportunities for follow up.
- Coordination of product pick up and movement to and from warehouse locations or between stores.
- Generate monthly forecasting reports to replenishment teams, identify problem items.
- Assist in completing the weekly transportation Profit and Loss Reports.
- Evaluate capacity versus sales needs and growth forecasts for a multiple warehouse environment.
- Review monthly product movement relative to buying patterns.
- Create a template for pre-booking of key seasonal items.
- Assist in preparation of report documents and presentations to management.
- May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in Finance, Economics or Logistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills (ie: Microsoft Office, Excel, etc,) and familiarity with pivot tables.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with other teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
Work & Sensory Environment:
- Possible exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
- Exposure to distractions caused by open office noise and frequent interruptions.
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
- Performing extensive and repetitive data entry.
