Engineering District 5-0 is seeking a Materials & Construction Inspector Supervisor to lead a field inspection team and support the Assistant District Materials Manager. In this role, you will oversee and guide inspectors while performing a range of technical duties related to materials inspection at asphalt, concrete, and aggregate plants. Your work ensures that all materials meet required specifications, contract documents, and approved Quality Control Plans—helping to maintain the quality and safety of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure.
In this position, you will supervise Transportation Construction Inspectors responsible for evaluating materials and workmanship on road and bridge construction projects. You will oversee all activities related to inspecting, sampling, testing, and controlling materials such as asphalt, concrete, Portland cement concrete, aggregates, anti-skid, salt, liquid asphalt, and other products used in construction and maintenance. The role also includes ensuring proper documentation, investigating rejected materials, preparing reports, and exercising independent judgment when making on-site technical decisions.
