As a Transportation Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects and workmanship is completed in conformance with approved construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications. You will independently inspect all phases of transportation construction work, inclusive of assisting with checking grades, elevations, structure stake-outs, and roadway stake-outs. You will also inspect the placement of materials such as cement concrete, bituminous concrete, drainage materials, and all other materials relative to transportation construction. Additional duties involve maintaining detailed reports, tracking project progress and schedules, and overseeing material quantities and testing utilizing manual or computerized methods. Within this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with department staff, various agencies, legislators, and the public to facilitate the effective management of projects.
