Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Transportation Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team in the New York City office. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of experience in transportation engineering, statistics, math or economics. The team specializes in traffic and revenue forecasting for toll facilities across the United States, offering a unique blend of transportation engineering, planning, and economics expertise. We emphasize training, collaboration, and interpersonal connections, which are strengthened by working side-by-side with colleagues. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing traffic data and toll facility transaction data. 
  • Conduct specialized toll facility analyses, including feasibility studies, investment-grade traffic and revenue studies, toll rate analyses, customer behavior assessments, net revenue evaluations, and toll diversion modeling.
  • Perform transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analyses, and speed studies.
  • Develop plans for collecting traffic and toll facility transaction data.
  • Create long-term traffic and revenue forecasts for toll roads.
  • Draft technical memoranda and reports.
     


Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with large databases, dashboard development, and related software such as Power BI, Tableau, or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages (e.g., C, Java, Python).
  • Knowledge of GIS software.
  • Strong proficiency in standard business software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret technical findings and communicate them to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong interest in transportation planning and socioeconomics.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience is preferred. Previous internship experience a plus. 
  • A master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • EIT or AICP certification is a plus.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
