Job Title: Traffic Logistics Associate
Position Overview
The Traffic Logistics Associate supports the daily coordination of logistics and container operations, ensuring accurate tracking, timely updates, and smooth execution of shipments. This role focuses on operational support, data accuracy, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and terminals, while following established processes and reporting to the Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Coordination
•Track container movements (fulls and empties) using systems such as Octopi and GDZ
•Coordinate with trucking companies for empty pickups, port transfers, and depot returns
•Assist with Equipment Control registrations to ensure containers are properly ingated
•Create and update ocean freight bookings (FCL and LCL) as assigned
Monitoring & Reporting
•Maintain and update the ECS log daily
•Monitor container timelines and flag any containers staying longer than expected
•Escalate delays or potential issues to the Logistics Manager in a timely manner
•Support data accuracy across systems and operational reports
Communication & Follow-Up
•Follow up with terminals, vendors, and internal teams for routine shipment updates
•Communicate updates clearly to the Logistics Manager
•Escalate issues, discrepancies, or delays as needed
Documentation & Systems
•Assist in preparing and organizing operational documentation
•Upload documents to GDZ and ensure proper record keeping
Additional Responsibilities
•Support other logistics-related activities as needed based on operational requirements and department growth
Role Expectations & Boundaries
•Execute assigned tasks and responsibilities under the guidance of the Logistics Manager
•Maintain alignment with the Logistics Manager before taking on additional responsibilities
•Do not act as the main point of contact for customers, vendors, or stakeholders unless assigned
•Do not make independent operational decisions outside assigned scope
•Ensure all external communications are aligned when required
Skills & Competencies
•Basic knowledge of logistics and container operations (FCL/LCL)
•Familiarity with tracking systems (Octopi, GDZ or similar)
•Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
•Good communication and follow-up skills
•Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues appropriately
•Team-oriented with the ability to follow structured processes
