Position Summary
The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies across hospital departments using computer-assisted tools and standard inventory practices to support efficient patient care operations. This role reports to the Director or Manager of the department.
Essential Functions
- Perform periodic cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory and adjust records as needed
- Stock units with office and medical supplies and prepare requisitions to maintain appropriate par levels
- Receive shipments, log receipts, and enter data into inventory systems
- Deliver supplies to departments or other facilities
- Report and document shipment errors or damages to management
- Answer telephone calls, assist at the receiving dock, and support walk-up requests professionally
- Complete clerical and computer-based tasks supporting patient care delivery
- Process outgoing mail
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
- High School diploma preferred
Required Skills
- Critical thinking and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced or stressful environment
- Proficiency in learning and navigating multiple computer systems
- Effective English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
- Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
