Description

Job Summary  

 

The Team Lead, General Warehouse, supports with the overall performance of the warehouse and operations. The Team Lead, General Warehouse plans, organizes, supports staff, directs, and controls the warehouse activities including manual movement of product, picking, palletizing, packing, labeling, and/or shipping of product to meet company standards in safety, security, damage free and productivity.  The Team Lead will communicate with leadership team regularly. 

 

 

Essential Job Functions 

  

  • Monitors and assist team members to check and count packing list for accuracy.  

  • Monitors and assist team members to pack orders according to the instructions on the pick sheet; various types of merchandise to be shipped in an accurate method. 

  • Make sure that every employee follows the work instructions of the bill of lading, receiver, or any specific work instruction.  

  • Monitors and assist team members to perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and re-packing as needed.  

  • Monitors and assists team members to perform value added services, building kits using multiple items based upon customer’s/client’s demands.  

  • Be a positive influence on and assist with the development of employees.  Assists Supervisor with performance management.  

  • Must ensure that all equipment is in good working condition, properly maintained and all safety equipment is being used.  

  • Participate in physical inventories as needed.  

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.  Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.   

  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety. Follow all safety and security regulations and company guidelines. 

  • Complete all safety training within the specified timeframe, applying all appropriate actions.  

  • Utilize all tools and equipment as trained to do so, stopping when unsafe, utilizing Hub Group employee’s Stop Work Authority.  

  • Honors commitments and the values of Hub Group (Service, Integrity and Innovation). 

  • Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function of the job.  Overtime may be required.  

  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time. 

 

Minimum Qualifications  

  

  • High School diploma or GED, required.  

  • 1+ years of warehouse experience required; 2-4 years of warehouse experience preferred. 

  • Previous leadership experience preferred. 

  • Ability to listen and follow instructions/work procedures both written and verbal.  

  • Able to communicate with coworkers, leads, supervisors and/or manager daily as to progress of tasks.  

  • Ability to work independently as well as be extremely effective in a team environment.   

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude that sets an example for others.   

  • Maintain a sense of urgency and be able to set priorities effectively.   

  • Must be customer service oriented. 

  • Previous experience with production or assembly line work is helpful.  

  • Ability to read and write legibly. 

  • Ability to perform calculations involving adding, counting, subtracting, division and multiplication.   

 

 

Physical & Work Environment Demands 

 

While performing the duties of this job, Employee will be required to manually lift and stack products that ranges from 5 pounds to 75 pounds.  Push carts of material with light to moderate force.  Must be capable of sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting, or walking for extended periods of time with moderate to high frequency.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.  

The work element may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter – this position is may not in a temperature-controlled environment.  Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
