Position Summary

Terra Nova is seeking a detail-oriented Tactical Buyer to support procurement and material planning activities. This role is responsible for executing MRP action messages, managing supplier communications, expediting critical materials, resolving purchasing discrepancies, and ensuring material availability to support production and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and execute MRP action messages (expedite, defer, cancel, reschedule, past due).
• Manage purchase orders and communicate requirements with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and update delivery commitments within ERP systems.
• Resolve supplier invoice, receiving, and material discrepancies.
• Expedite critical shortages and communicate supply risks to stakeholders.
• Support inventory accuracy, material availability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in supply chain reviews and cross-functional planning activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is an asset.
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• SCMP designation or progress toward certification is considered an asset.
