Kopp Glass, a Pittsburgh‑based manufacturer of high‑performance, custom glass products, is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support the day-to-day supply chain operations including purchasing activities and coordination of product receipt. This role is accountable for the acquisition of all materials (raw materials, packaging materials, plant materials), supplies, and equipment for Kopp Glass, and working with outside service providers. The Supply Chain Specialist’s primary responsibility is to support internal stakeholders while increasing the visibility of end-to-end supply chain operations. The position requires the exercise of good judgment that considers freight, the reliability and timeliness of delivery of goods and services, the quantities and quality of materials required, return policies, and the total cost of acquisition from approved suppliers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Procure raw materials, packaging, supplies, and services in alignment with quality, cost, and delivery requirements, ensuring timely communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Support material flow from suppliers to operations by managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and proactively expediting orders to prevent production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records within the ERP system, including purchase orders, receipt documentation, SDS/COA files, and vendor compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Accounting, and Quality to support inventory management, accounts payable accuracy, supplier performance, and continuous process improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of financial accounting and analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP computer systems
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
