POSITION SUMMARY

Manage and lead the project resources required for the Supply Chain activities to deliver the solutions data centre. Manage all resources in projects responsible for supply chain activities within or outside Vertiv’s organizations.  The responsibilities will span over several functions such as Procurement, Logistics and Manufacturing internal to Vertiv and will include corporate and third-party resources when needed. This is a key role in the project with main objective to support the Program manager in the execution and delivery of a cost-effective engineered solution.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all activities of the supply chain activates including budget.
  • Define sourcing, logistic and manufacturing strategies for the project in conjunction with the Project Director. This includes supplier selection and selecting manufacturing strategy (Mfg. location as well as own or 3rd party production).
  • Drive sourcing, logistic and manufacturing activates per approved project plan.
  • Manage day-to-day coordination between the supply chain functions (teams in Vertiv Business units, Procurement, Operations, Project management, others)
  • Ensure day-to-day communication flow between Engineering, and Supply Chain (procurement, logistics and manufacturing) and other functions dedicated to a project.
  • Work with the sales organization (the commercial side of the project) to ensure up-to-date information flow.
  • Track all supply chain activities and coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, factory integration, and site activities.
  • Keep project schedule updated and proactively work with project risk assessment to manage and mitigate any risks.
  • Track procurement and purchasing plan to ensure cost control. Ensure timely sourcing activities to achieve best cost and quality solution. Engage appropriate Commodity Manager or project purchasing specialist for supplier selection (e-sourcing, tender, negotiation, contract management, payment terms etc.)
  • Define, scope and assist in sourcing any external engineering, site management or other required services necessary to deliver the project to comply with the applicable codes and location considerations
  • Ensure that purchase orders are placed in a timely manner and ensure appropriate tracking and follow-up of deliveries.
  • Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, inventory management and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Monitors performance provides regular feedback to line organization or third party in regard to the employees performance within this project.
  • Foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees.  Acts as a role model and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop either directly or indirectly a cost estimate based on bill of materials received from engineering for the project and prepare cost estimates for Project Director approval.

  • Promote professional Vertiv image
  • Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Suppliers – Manage 3rd parties selected for this project

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Eligible to obtain passport
  • Domestic and International travel expected to be up to 50%

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Manages multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. Demonstrates ability to plan, set priorities, organizes and coordinates work with others.
  • Effectively communicates technical information and complex ideas.
  • Effectively demonstrates public speaking skills both in prepared presentations and impromptu speaking
  • Is persuasive, demonstrates diplomacy and tact.
  • Demonstrates professionalism (e.g., cooperation, courtesy, assertiveness, and non-defensiveness, accepting constructive criticism, and maintaining confidence).
  • Demonstrates good customer relation skills by providing prompt personalized service.
  • Effectively handles stressful situations (resolving conflicts and meeting deadlines).
  • Strong data centre market knowledge preferred
  • Experience managing an engineering team preferred

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology field with business aptitude
  • At least 7 years’ experience in management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or procurement
  • At least 5 years’ experience from building/facility project and management

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • 50% travel.
  • Variable working hours (after hours, weekends, holidays)
