About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and technology-driven Procurement Specialist to join our Calgary-based operations team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building forecasting models, and using technology to improve supply chain performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in inventory planning, full procurement lifecycle, procurement strategy, demand forecasting while helping optimize operational efficiency across the organization.
We are looking for someone who is exceptionally proficient in Excel and comfortable leveraging modern analytical tools, including AI-powered solutions, MS Power BI, and ERP systems to support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on operational oversight, optimizing our sourcing, production, and logistics processes to meet growing demand and support our expanding product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop andmaintainaccurateinventory, purchasing, and demand forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommendpurchasingstrategies that balance product availability with inventory allocations.
- Implement demand planning and forecasting processes to enhance accuracy and responsiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Create andmaintainadvanced Excel models, dashboards, and reports to support procurement and inventory planning.
- Utilize Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, AI tools, and other analytical software to improve forecasting accuracy and operational visibility
- Develop andmaintainstrongsupplier relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Manage the complete procurement lifecycle, from planning and sourcing through purchase orders and supplier follow-up
- Followproduction scheduling to align with demand forecasts and customer delivery timelines.
- Monitornon-stockinventory levels across all facilities,maintainingoptimallevelto meetoperationalneeds while minimizing excess.
- Collaborate cross-functionally withall other departmentsto align priorities andmaintainsmooth product flow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degreein Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience inprocurement,supply chainplanning,or operations management, preferably in manufacturing or building materials.
- Strong understanding of procurement, inventory control,forecasting methodologies,andlogisticsprinciples.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills arerequired, including: XLOOKUP, Index/Match, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Advanced formulas, Dataanalysisand reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP, Business Central, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proven ability to build andmaintainstrong supplier and partner relationships.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
