Job Title: Supply Chain Lead - Sourcing
Department: Purchasing & Procurement
Reports to: Director of Contracts & Procurement
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, vetting, and acquiring the external resources-such as materials, equipment, and services needed to complete specific large-scale projects on time and within budget and to establish Master Supply Agreements on favorable terms for key materials and commodities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive Procurement and Contracting Plan (PCP) that aligns with project milestones, timeliness, and technical specifications.
- Conduct market research to identify and vet potential suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, reliability and cost
- Lead the competitive bidding process (RFP/RFQ), evaluate supplier proposals based on pre-define evaluation criteria.
- Lead the negotiation of favorable commercial and contractual terms and service requirements while ensuring legal compliance.
- Lead the documentation for Recommendation For to (RTA) for the purchase of strategic project equipment and materials and subcontracts.
- Develop and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies aligned with business goals to reduce costs and mitigate supply chain risks
- Build, together with Project Site personnel, strong alliances with key suppliers to foster innovation, continuous improvement and long-term resilience.
- Analyze spending patterns and procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
- Lead the distribution and logistics including cross-border and customs transactions between Canada, Mexico, and the USA
- Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, services, and acceptable substitutions
- Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables
- Prepares and presents market conditions and commodity cost reports
- Assists the Director of Contracts and Procurement in evaluating contractual terms and conditions for issuing and awarding bids
- Coordinates removal or disposal of dated, used, or surplus materials
- Performs other duties as assigned
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation
- Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report the same to the Health and Safety Department
- Be a champion for safety, advocating safe behavior while incorporating safety into the purchasing process
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering discipline required
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, within heavy industrial industry preferably within the large scale projects within the mining industry.
- Professional Purchasing Certification (CPP) or working toward is preferred

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
- May require travel
