QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to use personal computer
- Ability to effectively direct, manage and lead personnel
- Ability to read, understand and interpret documents including District policies, department guidelines and procedures, and local, state, and federal laws
- Ability to professionally communicate in both verbal and written formats
- Demonstrated excellence in providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
- Must maintain bus driver certification
- Ability to safely operate a school bus
- Proven effective organizational, communication, and analysis skills required
- Two (2) years’ experience as a school bus driver
- Two (2) years’ supervisory experience preferred
- One (1) year transportation routing experience in a public school setting preferred
- Ability to speak, read and understand the English language

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise, manage, and lead assigned center employees, including daily communication, and support to employees throughout the center, in the bus stalls, and in vehicles
- Directly responsible for the success and efficiency of assigned routes, field trips, and other transportation requests for the assigned center, including test driving routes as necessary
- Visit assigned campuses and loading zones on a weekly basis to ensure effective communication with campus personnel
- Offer support to drivers who need assistance with student management practices through conversations, meetings and trainings, role modeling and deescalating situations on routes, and communication with campuses and parents in a timely manner
- Assist with the investigation process and make recommendations to the center area director including, but not limited to, employee issues and concerns, route and field trip matters, and any other operational matters
- Ensure transportation program responsibilities are completed on a daily basis, including student management, and field trips, student management system, call system
- Make recommendations for employment of assigned personnel
- Effective and frequent communication with the Transportation Department’s routing division to ensure route modifications and updates are completed in a timely manner
- Interview driver and attendant applicants, make recommendations for hire, and ensure the onboarding process is completed for every assigned employee
- Effective and frequent communication with staff, parents, students, school personnel and the community regarding bus routes using district provided programs, including communication and routing software, e-mail, and phone calls
- Conduct annual evaluations on all assigned center employees
- Administer written reprimands to assigned center employees as required in a timely manner.
- Support the center area director and transportation human resources in employee meetings that require further investigation and/or redirection
- Assist with the center field trip process
- Investigate employee field trip infractions and document and manage field trip infractions with the employee
- Assist center dispatchers to ensure efficient and effective coverage for all daily student transportation needs
- Assist the center area director in ensuring all key performance indicators and data metrics are being tracked and analyzed in an effective manner
- Work collaboratively and professionally with department personnel and district personnel, parents and the community to provide a positive customer service experience at all times
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and electronic reports, records, and other documents required
- Ensure all assigned center employees complete required trainings and maintain required certifications
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, trainings, and in-services as required
- Assist the area director in supporting all center, department and district initiatives

- Perform other duties as assigned
